Barry is a renowned applied exercise physiologist and specialist in intermittent exercise and football. He is recognized internationally for his research in the area of football performance and player preparation and his applied experience working within the sport. Barry has also worked with high-profile sports organisations to plan and implement their sport science and research strategies. In addition, he has also created bespoke development and mentoring programmes for staff employed in clubs. Example organisations for this activity include Liverpool FC, West Bromwich Albion FC, Everton FC, Manchester United FC, the Premier League, Nike and Catapult. Barry was also the England senior men’s team sports scientist between 2012 and 2016 attending 3 major international tournaments to support the training and monitoring of players.
